A couple of years back I had to go into hospital for an operation, nothing serious I would be in a few days.
On the second day Allen (my husband) came in carrying a large tray of fruit, so beautifully wrapped. Molly brought it down he said. Attached was this note which read (I will leave it to your imagination what "the job" was)
YOUR BIRTHDAY & YOUR CHRISTMAS CARDS ARE REALLY QUITE SUPERB
TO MATCH THEM IS IMPOSSIBLE SO THOUGHT I WOULD WRITE THIS BLURB
THE OPERATION NOW IS DONE "THANK GOODNESS" FRIENDS WILL SAY
SO ALL YOU HAVE TO DO MY DEAR IS GET BETTER DAY BY DAY.
YOU SAID YOU HAD "A JOB" TO DO BEFORE THEY LET YOU GO
SO THOUGHT ATTACHED MIGHT HELP WITH THIS AND CAUSE YOU NO MORE WOE
I'M SURE THE SURGEON - HAS DONE HIS BEST SO NOW IT'S UP TO YOU
QUIETLY - GENTLY IS THE PACE, SO BECAREFUL IN WHAT YOU DO.
I'M SURE YOU'RE GLAD THIS TALE HAS ENDED IT'S ONLY TO CHEER YOU UP
SO WHEN YOU ARE FEELING MORE YOURSELF COME ALONG & WE WILL HAVE A CUP.
At some point, although I don't remember when I must have had a conversation with Molly and said that I wasn't a fan of apples or pears, but Molly had remembered, there was almost every fruit you could think of on the tray but not an apple or pear to be seen. Molly had put so much thought into choosing, and wrapping the tray of fruit and then sat down to compose the verse. All done in the only way Molly knew how - from the heart. It all meant so much to me and it did certainly cheer me up
Bless you Molly you were a "one off"
