Cheers Molly!

Just being with Molly was a cause for celebration. She was always up for a good chat, a great laugh and a wee tipple or two.

Molly and her great friend Mary did a cross Canada tour in the late 70's after Tim' passing. Steve was able to secure them a nice 2nd floor room, with a great view over Robson Street, in Vancouver as he was then employed at the affiliated restaurant O'Douls. I was introduced to his wonderful Aunt Molly the next afternoon. On entering their room I was surprised to see the two women enjoying the view but also sitting in front of a round bistro table absolutely loaded with a variety of alcoholic beverages - Campari, Vermouth, Rye, Wines etc. Needless to say a pre-dinner drink was in order. It was such fun being able to meet and spend some time with this warm, engaging and fun loving Aunt. So full of life! By the end of the week, in true Molly fashion, she had endeared herself to all the hotel staff and they all wanted to claim her as their Aunt Molly.

For years Molly's drink of choice was Seagram's VO and water. As Mum (Peggy) would always say "you can't fly with one wing", so a second was always forthcoming.

On hearing the sad news of Molly's passing Steve and I, along with many of the relatives, toasted the life of this truly remarkable woman. She was deeply loved and an inspiration to us all.
